VIAGRA – is it used in women?

Could the magic pill help women?

Women may also benefit from a well-known a Erectile Dysfunction drug Viagra®, according to a team of Italian scientists. The results of their study contradict previous research projects that reported little improvement among women taking the drug.

Viagra (sildenafil citrate) was created to treat men’s sexual problems, because it increases blood flow to the penis. However, it has long been suspected that this effect can help many women suffering from the equivalent dysfunction, the inability to reach a satisfactory level of arousal or to maintain it.

This sexual distress in women is, in theory, more common than impotence in men. The study focused on 53 women from 20 to 30 years of age, with problems that prevent them from becoming sexually aroused. For four weeks they received placebo or Viagra and then answered a questionnaire.

The results suggest that both, sexual excitation and capability of reaching orgasm increased among those who were taking Viagra.

More satisfied

The authors of the study from Sexology Research Center at the University of Catania, Sicily, found that women taking the drug said to have been more satisfied with sex than those who were taking placebo.

Viagra

Viagra has become a successful multimillionaire project for the company that developed it, Pfizer, despite other impotence drugs have been developed to hit the market.

However, Pfizer is very skeptical about the study.

A company spokesman said, “So far, Pfizer studies on female sexual dysfunctions have shown that although Viagra was well tolerated, it has shown no significant increase in the level of excitement.”

But he added that the study of the Italians is interesting and it will be reviewed as a part of their investigation.

Who knows. Maybe women will soon get a powerful tablet for a perfect sexual life.

What do you think? Does ‘Women Viagra‘ work or is it a myth?

It’s an important question to ponder, the libido in women is much more than men. Menopausal women rarely face any problems… Actually, I think the so-called ‘Viagra for women’ is a myth…at least nowadays… don’t know, maybe we gonna expect some breakthrough in future, but the right time hasn’t come yet… Unfortunately…

Grace, it’s ok with your thought. But have you given any thought to postmenopausal women? I am 55 years, still want to have sex with my partner, but do not have that much of drive. Maybe this ‘miracle drug’ will definitely help me a lot. What do you think? I’m quite embarrased to see my doctor.

  2. Amelia... says:

Recent studies have shown that 68% of postmenopausal women do not like to have sex, or their interest is low… Is THAT TRUE???

  3. Charlotte Green says:

Well girls…I am NOT so really excited to read about it. Viagra is for men, and works well in men, according to the testimonials. The enzymatic action in females is quite different than in men. But I keep my fingers crossed. Hope it works well!!!!

I am a 57 year and a divorcee…My husband divorced me as I was not able to match his sexual desire…I am gonna be the first person to buy female’s VIAGRA… but only if the official research is successful and it is legally marketed. SO I THINK IT’S A MATTER OF WHEN!!

Thanks for giving information about the product, IF IT’S TRUE, it will be a bless to women in disguise, I’M SURE!!!!
